Sustainable Laminate Tube Packaging – Performance Meets Eco-Innovation

As a factory specializing in toothpaste and laminate tubes, we know overseas B2B buyers value barrier performance, sustainability, and cost. Laminate tubes are made by rolling and welding multi-layer sheets, distinct from extruded seamless tubes. Based on the barrier layer, they fall into aluminum-plastic (ABL), all-plastic high-barrier (PBL), paper-aluminum-plastic, and high-gloss metallized types. Colors, shapes (round, flat, triangular, square, pentagonal, ultra-flat, dual), diameters (D13–D60), and capacities (2g–420ml) are fully customizable.

ABL tubes consist of outer PE, adhesive, aluminum foil, and inner PE. The foil delivers excellent oxygen/moisture barrier and a metallic look, with good stiffness but moderate resilience. Thickness 270–400µ. Ideal for active toothpastes, anti-sensitivity, or essential-oil products, preventing oxidation and scent loss. Note: prone to dents.

PBL tubes replace foil with EVOH, structure: PE/adhesive/EVOH/adhesive/PE – all plastic, recyclable. Barrier, stiffness and resilience better than ABL. Thickness 350–400µ. Surface metallization can mimic premium metal finishes. PBL excels in production efficiency, cost stability, printability, and plastic reduction – its market share is rising fast.

Paper-aluminum-plastic tubes add a paper layer (white or kraft texture) between PE and foil, reducing plastic use, with moderate barrier – great for natural brands. High-gloss metallized tubes use VMPET film, offering extreme metallic appearance, stiffness and resilience both, thickness up to 500µ, perfect for luxury cosmetics.

For sustainability, we offer sugarcane-based (bio-based, lower carbon), PCR (post-consumer recycled inner layer), ocean-bound plastic (recovered from marine waste), and kraft paper-PE laminate (compostable, used by L'Oréal). EU and US markets favor lower-plastic packaging – plastic reduction is key.

We recommend optimal structures – ABL, PBL, paper-plastic, or metallized – based on your formula, shelf life, sustainability goals, and budget. Custom thickness, printing, and finishes available. Contact us for samples.
